Our Story

OGOW Health is an award-winning platform that specializes in providing customized m-health solutions to empower healthcare providers, caregivers, and governments in under-served communities. In 2019, OGOW Health was selected as a Top Idea in the Bill and Melinda Gates Health: Empowering Caregivers in Immunization Innovation Challenge.

OGOW Health's solution focuses on digitizing medical records, promoting public health interventions such as maternal and infant health, and providing easy-to-access and timely care and patient information to providers and caregivers to aid in informed decision-making.

The platforms incorporate decision support and the WHO-recommended immunization schedule and can be adapted according to national policies/schedules. OGOW Health is designed to work offline and in low-connectivity areas, making it well-suited for use in low-resource communities. It also allows for real-time data collection and analysis, which can help health workers identify and follow up with expecting mothers and children who have missed their vaccinations.

Human-centered Design

At OGOW Health, we are committed to working closely with the communities we serve to co-create health solutions that align with national priorities and promote positive health outcomes. Through collaboration, we aim to design effective solutions that are culturally sensitive and contextually relevant. By prioritizing health outcomes and working together with our communities, we can create a healthier and more equitable future for all.

Our approach begins with transparent conversations with key stakeholders and deep listening to better understand the challenges and opportunities they have seen. This participatory approach, coupled with data insights, allows for the co-creation of designs that are unique to each community and helps to support their vision and goals.

Fun Fact: In 2020, IDEO.org, a leader in human-centered design, launched the Empowering Caregivers in Immunization Challenge, an accelerator program that selected OGOW as a top idea.

For decades, IDEO has been at the forefront of the human-centered design approach to solving complex problems.

The five-month accelerator program took a human-centered approach to shift health ecosystems in the region. Over the course of a year, OGOW, Gates Helth, IDEO and partners came together, inspired by the possibility of a more equitable and just healthcare system.
